Oregon has been a leading manufacturer of chainsaw chains and equipment since the 1940s. For the first time ever, Oregon wanted to change things up by launching a line of cordless, battery operated, landscaping tools, their first product of course, a chainsaw. Our project with Oregon involved a thorough exploration into what they intended to offer consumers, who the market was, what would these products offer consumers, etc. Following that came product naming and strategy, then exploration and development of several design language concepts which led to a flexible, simple, modular language supported with photography and feature-driven icons.
Development of the design language included typeface and color palette recommendations, brandmark creation, photography style direction, and several inspirational applications of the design language including teeshirts, PowerPoint presentations and tradeshow booths.
